The NEC e616 is the latest 3G phone to be released by NEC. In a press release from NEC on the 16th of October
2003, they indicated that this phone will be shipped to Hutchison in late October - early November.

The e616 looks very much like its predecessor but is slimmer and lighter but has a few more features. It is 14g lighter, 6 mm shorter and nearly 6 mm thinner. The screen remains the same size but supports a higher resolution at 240x176 compared to 132x162 on the e606. Memory is now expandable to a maximum of 128MB via a Sony Memory stick. It comes with 19MB dynamic memory. The camera function has improved with the addition of Camera light for low light conditions. The phone has Improved image and video support over the e606.
